Mind, Body and Balance: How Leanne Davidson Found Her Path in Hypnotherapy and Sports Mindset Coaching

At Clinical Hypnosis Australia, we love sharing stories that show how people find their purpose through unexpected turns. Recently, Trish Pellen (CHA Director) sat down with Leanne Davidson from Back2Balance to talk about her journey from remedial massage to holistic hypnotherapy and sports mindset coaching. What followed was a heartfelt chat about healing, intuition, and the incredible power of the mind–body connection.

From Massage to Mindset

Before COVID, Leanne worked as a remedial massage therapist. Like many in the wellness field, her focus was on physical healing. But when the pandemic hit, everything changed.

“People started presenting with physical symptoms that I felt were a direct result of stress,” Leanne explained. “They wanted to talk, and that made me realise how much the mind affects the body.”

That insight opened the door to something bigger. Leanne began exploring hypnotherapy and the Simpson Protocol, a powerful subconscious communication approach that helps people work through emotional and spiritual layers of healing.

She also had a long-standing love for working with animals, offering canine bowen therapy alongside her human practice, bringing balance to both people and pets.

The Sports Connection

Leanne’s journey took another turn when she discovered Stuart Walter, known for his mindset work with elite athletes.

“I was massaging at three different clubs and saw how much young people struggle, especially mentally,” she said. “It’s not always about ability. Sometimes life outside the game affects how they perform.”

Her interest in performance psychology led her to complete a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy so she could integrate mindset training with physical recovery and sports motivation.

Leanne’s approach now combines spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical aspects of wellbeing, helping athletes unlock their full potential by strengthening their inner focus.

Why Mindset Matters More Than Ever

Trish and Leanne both agreed that the COVID years reshaped how people think about health, motivation, and mental resilience.

“A lot of people lost their mojo when sport and fitness routines were disrupted,” Trish said. “Getting back into the game - physically and mentally - has been a challenge for many.”

Leanne works closely with clients to help them reset their mindset, manage emotions, and reconnect with their goals. Her sessions blend hypnosis, communication, and intuition, empowering people to rediscover balance and confidence.

The Simpson Protocol: Healing on a Deeper Level

The Simpson Protocol became a cornerstone of Leanne’s work because it aligns perfectly with her belief in whole-person healing.

“It’s deeply spiritual,” she said. “It allows people to connect to their subconscious guidance and find answers that traditional talk therapy sometimes can’t reach.”

Through this process, Leanne supports clients through emotional challenges, stress recovery, and self-discovery, all while maintaining a gentle, grounded approach.

Leanne’s Advice: Follow What Resonates

When asked what advice she would give anyone listening, Leanne’s answer was simple but powerful.

“Go where your heart calls you. If something is put in front of you, explore it. Sometimes life places things in your path for a reason. And most importantly, take time to think about what you truly want.”

Her message is a reminder that transformation often starts when you listen to your intuition and give yourself permission to grow.
